Description

The Army Chaplains’ Department (AChD) was formed by Royal Warrant of 23 September 1796. Previously chaplains had been part of individual regiments, but not on the central establishment. During World War One some 4,400 Army Chaplains were recruited and 179 lost their lives on active service. The Department received the “Royal” prefix in February 1919.

This figure has been created to remember those men of god who served and to highlight their role during the Great War.

This version is based on Theodore Bayley Hardy VC, DSO, MC who was killed in October 1918 while attached to the 8th Lincs. who won the Victoria Cross in July that year for tending to wounded men and taking them to safety while under constant enemy fire.

The figure is 1/32 scale and cast in light grey resin and is sculpted by Nino Pizzichemi. Box art is by Alex Varela.

Please note the following:

  • The figures in the Tommy’s War range are 1/32 scale and sometimes described as 54mm in height. If you have any questions regarding scale then please don’t hesitate to email darren@tommyswar.com.
  • The figure is cast in polyurethane resin and is supplied unpainted and unassembled. The kit requires cleaning and assembly and is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Please always take care when working with resin. Work in a well ventilated room or wear a face mask as protection from resin dust.
  • Any scenic base shown on the box art is NOT included with the figure.
