Description
This figure is one of three figures designed to depict the British and German armies in East Africa in World War One which has the title of ‘Meeting in East Africa’, depicting two Kings African Rifles speaking to a captured German Schutztruppe officer.
TW32034 is an Askari (native soldier) of the 2nd Battalion Kings African Rifles as he would have appeared in the early part of the war in Africa, he wears tropical pattern uniform with a the distinctive other ranks cap. His equipment is 1908 webbing and he is armed with a SMLE rifle.
