It’s been a very busy few months for me with Tommy’s War, since I last updated the blog I’ve been over to The Netherlands for Scale Model Challenge, and what a show that is!
I was absolutely blown away with everything in the show, the set-up and the friendliness from everyone involved, and I’d urge anyone reading to get over there at least once as its a fantastic weekend.
There were too many highlights to mention, but it was fantastic to meet so many of my friends from France, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands and the UK, but I have to mention my real highlight of the weekend with a surprise visit from my old friend Günther Sternberg – I will always remember the moment I saw him walking in to the hall.
But that’s sadly in the past now and we’re already into November, but I’ve still go Scale Model Challenge in Telford to look forward to plus news of a new figure release to ease those Autumn blues!
TW32G02 – Sergeant, Mounted Military Police, France & Flanders 1916
In late November I’ll formally announce this release. Sculpted in 1/32 scale by Gianpiero Russo this figure is based on research and help by Toby Brayley, Assistant Curator at the Royal Military Police Museum.
The brief for Gianpiero was to follow the image supplied by Toby of himself in MMP uniform, we’re both delighted with the result.
I have a very small number of castings which will be available at SMW Telford on the 11th and 12th November (email email@example.com to reserve a copy). The main bulk of casting will be with me w/c 20.11.2017 and I will formally release the figure after that date.
In the meantime, Alex Varela will paint the box art for me.
The figure is based on this image of Toby, which is a fantastic paint reference;
The figure will be priced at £16.00 (£12.80 for Collectors Club members).
TW32VC01 – Piper Daniel Laidlaw VC
A hugely popular figure, the first production run sold out within weeks of release. I’ve got a small number of casts through for Telford (again, I advise reserving at firstname.lastname@example.org) but don’t worry, if you’ve been after the figure there will be a second, larger delivery of casting before the end of November!
TW32VEH1 Crossley Light Tender
It’s back! I’ve cast a second short run of the popular Crossley Light Tender. Earlier this year I cast 25 which sold-out immediately. This second batch of 25 is just as popular and over half are sold or reserved already. I received the production yesterday and all orders will be shipped this week with any remaining coming with me to Telford for the weekend.
You can order a copy here
Remaining stock will be available at Telford strictly while stocks last. If you’re travelling to the show then I suggest reserving one by emailing email@example.com
I’ve been asked about missing box art in the latest catalogue. 2017 has been a big release year and the sheer speed of releases has meant that I have had to release figures without box art. I’m pleased to say that I’m in the process of catching-up on this and will post the results on this blog, but a list of artists working at the moment is as follows;
- TW32CP06 – Juan Manuel Jurado
- TW32037, 38 and 39 – Alex Long
- TW32CC01, 2 and 3 – Edward Sage
- TW32G02 – Alex Varela
2018 release schedule
I’m currently working hard on the 2018 release schedule, I’ve had a few comments about releasing too many figures in 2017, so I’d just like to reassure all customers that although the quality of releases will remain high there won’t be the high number that you’ve seen this year.
